Power Creep — PNP Arcade Publishing

Project Role: Art Direction, Graphic Design, Game Design

Subtle environmental changes in the illustration helped communicate the passage of time without adding rules or complexity.

As the third game in the 'Pages' series, Power Creep allowed for playful illustrative nods to the passage of time within the game world. It was also the first title to introduce a campaign mode.

To reinforce this progression, we revisited the same locations at different points in the future. I adjusted the illustrations between game areas to hint at environmental changes. Over time, some locations became overgrown before being destroyed by fire, while others flooded to the point where sea creatures appeared in later stages.

Across the entire series, one of my most critical contributions was maintaining consistency and error-free production. Each game contained more than 52 sheets, requiring a thoughtful file structure and careful planning. These games were released weekly throughout the year, with Underboss continuing that cadence for four consecutive years.
