The Cursed Menagerie
Project Role: Art Direction and Graphic Design. Game Design.

Designing around hidden information required a layout that protected the mystery without compromising usability.
The Cursed Menagerie began with a simple question: why are there so few games centered on haunted objects? That idea shaped a visual identity built around mystery, restraint, and reveal.
The game’s core sliding-card reveal mechanic required a carefully engineered layout. I designed the cards to be visually forgiving, ensuring that movement never accidentally exposed the hidden ghost beneath. This balance of tension and clarity was critical to preserving both gameplay and immersion.
Art direction was a highlight of the project. I collaborated closely with the illustrator to develop a style that felt eerie without becoming cluttered, allowing atmosphere to carry the experience while maintaining clear visual hierarchy.
